  • clay jacobson, Interim Pastor

    Clay Jacobson is currently serving as our Interim Pastor during this time of transition. He holds a B.A. from Texas A&M, an M.Div. from Southwestern Theological Seminary, and pursuing a D.Min. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also works with our state convention, Texas Baptists, helping churches start churches across Northeast Texas. His desire is to equip and encourage Woodland Heights Baptist Church as they prepare for the next pastor the Lord is preparing to serve here.

  • Karen Folkertsma, Minister of worship

    Karen was called to Woodland Heights to serve as Minister of Worship in February 2011. Karen, along with her husband Phillip and their three children came to WHBC from a church plant here in the Metroplex. Before that, the family resided in Seattle, WA where Karen received her BA in Music Education from Seattle Pacific University. She served first as a music educator and eventually leadership in worship ministry. Karen’s experience has included directing bands and choirs, ministering through song and leading worship. She enjoys playing and teaching guitar in her spare time. Karen desires nothing more than to see God's people sing His praises with passion and sincerity.

  • Johnny Gonzales, Minister to Students

    Johnny joined the Woodland Heights staff as Minister to Students in 2014.  He strongly desires to partner with parents to see students come into relationship with God through Jesus, make their faith their own through discipleship and make God known to their world.

  • Patti Simpson, Office Administrator

    Patti has been with Woodland Heights since 1998. Her primary role in the office is to assist the pastor and other ministers but she also ministers in an incredibly important way to our members. She and her husband have three children and 5 grandchildren. Her goal in life is to make sure that her grandchildren know and have a relationship with Jesus.
