  • PAstor Tim Pierce, PHD

    Tim came to Woodland Heights in 2009. He previously served as a Professor of Biblical Studies at Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth for nine years. As you might expect, Tim is passionate about deep, meaningful exposition of the word of God. What’s more, Tim possesses an enthusiasm for seeing all the members of the Church expressing themselves in authentic worship. Tim and his wife Kristy have three children and have been married for over twenty-five years. He enjoys reading and writing and ministering to God’s people. Tim's book, Enthroned on Our Praise: An Old Testament Theology of Worship is about the relationship between the created and the Creator, expressed in both specific worship events and lifestyle commitments. He believes that all life in Christ is centered on a lifestyle of worship. In his free time, Tim enjoys computers, gaming, and time with his kids. He would love to get to know you and your family.

  • Stephanie Thames, Children's Minister

    Stephanie has been a Children’s Minister for over 16 years. She is passionate about children coming to a deeper understanding of who God is. Her favorite time of the year is Vacation Bible School. She has a deep heart for missions and has traveled to many countries over the years to teach kids about God's love. Stephanie joined the staff of Woodland Heights Baptist Church in July of 2010. Before she came to WHBC she was on staff at Houston Northwest Baptist Church. She has a BA from Howard Payne University in Religious Education. Stephanie has a daughter, Madisynn, who is attending college at Howard Payne University.

  • Karen Folkertsma, Minister of worship

    Karen was called to Woodland Heights to serve as Minister of Worship in February 2011. Karen, along with her husband Phillip and their three children came to WHBC from a church plant here in the Metroplex. Before that, the family resided in Seattle, WA where Karen received her BA in Music Education from Seattle Pacific University. She served first as a music educator and eventually leadership in worship ministry. Karen’s experience has included directing bands and choirs, ministering through song and leading worship. She enjoys playing and teaching guitar in her spare time. Karen desires nothing more than to see God's people sing His praises with passion and sincerity.

  • Johnny Gonzales, Minister to Students

    Johnny Gonzales joined WHBC as its Minister to Students in 2014. Johnny brings 19 years of youth ministry experience to the Student Ministry at WHBC. He strongly desires to see students come into relationship with God through Jesus, make their faith their own through discipleship and make God known to their world.

  • John LItton, Minister of ADult Education

    John joined the staff in 2015. John is a 1991 graduate of Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth and has served on staffs in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma as Youth Pastor and as Associate Pastor of Education. His passion for the educational ministries of the church shows through in the fact that he is the only staff member who serves on a volunteer basis. He also serves on the worship team. John and wife Terri have been married for nearly 30 years and they have two children. John enjoys singing, playing guitar, hunting and fishing and spending time with family.

  • Patti Simpson, Office Administrator

    Patti has been with Woodland Heights since 1998. Her primary role in the office is to assist the pastor and other ministers but she also ministers in an incredibly important way to our members. She and her husband have three children and 5 grandchildren. Her goal in life is to make sure that her grandchildren know and have a relationship with Jesus.

  • CArolyn Leblanc, Administrative assistant

    Carolyn Leblanc has been a member of WHBC for 10 years. She and her husband Jesse have 5 children and 9 grandchildren. She started working for WHBC in 2015 after working as an educator for 20 years. She also serves at WHBC as a pianist.
